Missouri’s Sunshine Law is RSMo Chapter 610. • 610.010 definitions; 610.011 policy of openness. • 610.023 — each public governmental body shall make available for inspection and copying public records. If the request is received, the body shall give as soon as possible and within three business days an explanation of the status, and produce or explain delay. • Closed records: 610.021 (personnel, legal, bid specs until opened, etc.). • 610.026 — fees limited to actual cost of search, research, and duplication; staff time at the average rate of pay for clerical staff if extra research is needed. Use the Sunshine module in this portal to log the request, set the 3-business-day due date, and print a packet. Do not guess — if unsure whether a record is closed, ask the City Clerk / city attorney.
